On this page

Want to become an intuitive life coach? Then you’re in the right place!

By the end of this article, you’ll know exactly what you need to do to become a successful intuitive life coach.

Plus, you’ll learn six intuitive life coaching methods you can use in your own intuitive life coaching business.

Ready? Let’s dive right in!

You’ll learn:

What is an intuitive life coach?

Intuitive life coaching is all about helping clients by using their intuition.

You know that little voice inside that sometimes whispers, “Hey, this feels right,” or “Nope, that’s not for me?”

As an intuitive coach, you guide clients to listen to that voice.

By connecting the body, mind, and spirit with emotional and spiritual healing tools, clients feel more aligned. (But more on those in a bit.)

The goal is to unlock a client’s own intuition so that they can figure out what they really want in life and how to get it.

This helps them make better decisions and find what truly makes them happy. After all, using intuition can lead to better and faster decisions.

The end result is often a much more fulfilling life — one that actually aligns with a client’s desires and passions.

Having explored what an intuitive life coach is, let’s now delve into what they do.

What does an intuitive life coach do?

As an intuitive life coach, you help people use their intuition. However, the best coaching offers transformation. And to do so, you need to focus on a niche – a specific goal. .

For example…

  • Career goals: You guide clients to a career they’re passionate about. Imagine a client is unhappy at work but doesn’t know why. You might help them realize they love working with people, not just numbers.
  • Creativity: You connect clients with their inner source of inspiration. This involves exploring what truly excites and motivates them. For instance, if someone wants to pursue their creative side but doesn’t know how, that’s something you could help them with.
  • Relationships: When clients understand themselves better, their relationships often become more satisfying. You teach them to know what they want and need.
  • Personal development: You encourage clients to explore their internal dialogue. This helps them spot limiting beliefs that keep them from achieving what they want.
  • Self-awareness: You support clients in becoming aware of their true selves. By being in touch with their desires, they make more authentic choices.
  • Entrepreneurship: You could use intuition-led goal setting to help entrepreneurs visualize their business. This brings clarity to their dreams and plans.

These are some of the areas you can help with as an intuitive life coach.

But how do you make such transformations happen?

We’ll cover that next.

Intuitive life coaching methods

Intuitive life coaching uses several unique methods to help clients get results.

Let’s go over some common ones that you can apply in your coaching practice.

Creative coaching exercises

Creative activities help clients understand their feelings and thoughts in a different way.

For instance, a vision board and visualization can help people define and achieve their goals. Mind mapping is another great tool to visualize plans and desires.

Similarly, journaling can reveal hidden emotions. This helps clients understand why they feel a certain way and how to deal with those feelings.

Active and empathetic listening

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do as a coach is listen and show you understand.

By empathetically listening, you create a safe space. This encourages clients to be open about their fears and hopes.

In coaching, you NEED that kind of honest openness.

It’s what helps clients discover what they really want.

Plus, it lets you focus on their core issues so that you can create long-lasting change.

Hypnotherapy

Through hypnosis, you bring clients into a state where they’re more open to suggestions.

This allows for deep, subconscious healing and change.

For instance, you could work with them to:

  • Rewrite negative thought patterns
  • Encourage new ways of thinking
  • Let go of fears

This can be powerful for achieving goals in learning, personal growth, or performance.

Because of its impact on the subconscious, hypnotherapy needs special training to be used safely.

Concentration & meditation

Meditation can help people concentrate and become happier.

Through techniques like deep breathing and visualization, clients enter a meditative state.

Spending time in this meditative state helps:

  • Clear the mind
  • Relax the body
  • Feel more connected

When clients learn to quiet their minds, they often find it easier to concentrate on their goals.

This clarity can be a game changer, especially for clients who face big decisions or feel lost.

Chakra healing

Chakra healing is rooted in Indian tradition. It’s about balancing the chakras, which are energy centers in the body.

With this technique, you help clients find inner balance and harmony.

For instance, if a client feels emotionally blocked, you might work on their heart chakra to open up feelings of love and compassion.

The idea is that aligning one’s energy boosts overall well-being.

Like hypnotherapy, chakra healing requires specific training.

Reiki

Reiki is a well-known Japanese healing technique.

The focus is on balancing the body and mind energy, which can lead to emotional and physical healing.

As a Reiki practitioner, you channel energy by placing your hands on or near the client’s body.

Reiki is known to make people feel more relaxed. This makes it particularly helpful for clients dealing with stress.

However, it also requires specific training.

With these coaching methods in mind, let’s go over the steps to become a successful intuitive life coach.

How do you become an intuitive life coach?

Becoming a successful intuitive life coach comes down to the right strategy.

And here, we’ll look at three important steps. Let’s take a closer look at what they are.

Define your intuitive life coaching niche

Start by defining your niche.

This means figuring out what specific area you want to focus on.

Do you want to specialize in a certain aspect like trauma, fitness, chakra healing, or hypnotherapy? Or do you prefer a more general practice?

I always advise my students to niche down.

Here’s why:

Choosing a niche isn’t just about narrowing your focus — it’s about becoming an expert in a specific area.

This lets you offer precise advice that’s just right for your clients.

The result?

More impactful and quicker outcomes with less effortexactly what your clients are looking for.

Not sure what your niche could be?

Ask yourself the following questions:

  • What am I good at? Think about your skills and talents. Are you great at motivating people, understanding emotions, or meditation techniques?
  • Who do I want to help? Who are your ideal clients? Are they professionals who want work-life balance or people coping with life transitions?
  • What do I want to help with? Pick your focus area. Is it stress management, personal growth, relationship difficulties, career transitions, building self-confidence, and so on.

Combined, these three factors create a unique niche.

Here are three examples:

  • Good at sparking creativity and want to help artists or writers? Your niche could be helping clients overcome blocks and tap into their inner creativity.
  • Want to help people who are dealing with burnout find a job they love? You could focus on helping clients make better career decisions by listening to their gut feelings.
  • Skilled at understanding how relationships work? You can specialize in improving couples’ or individuals’ romantic connections. Your niche would involve teaching clients how to communicate better, resolve conflicts, and build healthier relationships using their intuition.

By carving out your own place, you stand out.

Clients know exactly what they can expect. And when you then also offer high-value spiritual intuitive coaching, building a name for yourself becomes easier.

If you’re still searching for your niche, this video will help you:

Get an intuitive life coaching certification

Do you need a certificate to be an intuitive life coach?

Not really.

That’s because there are no strict legal requirements.

Certification can offer credibility and structured learning, but it’s not the only way to become a successful coach.

In fact, I teach my students to start coaching ASAP so that they can also get better at coaching ASAP.

After all, what counts is your ability to help clients see results.

That said, some states do have rules about health and mental health coaching, especially when it involves certain healing practices. So, make sure you understand any regulations that might apply to your coaching.

If you choose to get certified, pick a reputable program.

Not sure what the options are?

Here’s an overview of some of the best intuitive life coaching certifications:

  • Inner Life Skills Intuition Coach Certification – InnerLifeSkills offers a three-week online program. It’s ICF-accredited and includes three live Zoom classes, each lasting 3 hours. The focus is on somatic intuition coaching and you’ll learn eight intuition coaching tools. Each tool comes with scripts and ready-to-use worksheets. (Price: $917)
  • Intuitive Development, Healing Arts & Comprehensive Life Coaching Education –  This program mixes intuition and life coaching. It gives you access to weekly lessons, practice with other students, advice from a mentor coach, and a private group for 24/7 support. Lessons are matched to your niche, and you’ll learn how to grow your business and attract clients. The full course takes about 6 months and is ICF-approved. (Price: $7,000)
  • iPEC Coach Training ExperienceThe Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) was one of the first coaching programs approved by the ICF. They don’t focus just on intuitive coaching, but they’re well-known for coaching in general. iPEC’s program is 320 hours long and you end up with three different coaching certificates. It’s a good choice if you want a broad view of coaching. (Price: $13,395)

Having explored certification options, the next move is to actually start your business.

Start your intuitive life coaching business

To kick off your business, you need your first client.

I tell my students to focus on getting ONE client first.

Offer them a transformative experience, and only then start working with the next one.

This strategy is key to avoiding the common error many new intuitive coaches make:

Aiming for unrealistic goals that end in frustration.

Instead, go for achievable targets. This builds momentum.

Now, how do you find your first paying client?

Here are two ways:

  • Reach out: Look around in your own network. Your friends, family, or acquaintances might be interested in intuitive life coaching. Or maybe they know someone else who is?
  • Get in front of them: Find out where your clients are and be there. Whether it’s Instagram, Reddit, or Facebook. Share your knowledge, engage in discussions, and offer advice. When potential clients see how you can help them, they’re more likely to work with you.

As a new coach, building trust is key. You do this by offering value.

In turn, clients can then give you a glowing testimonial.

This kind of feedback is more than just encouraging; it actually brings in more clients.

That’s because it increases your social proof. Potential clients see what they can achieve by working with you.

With a strong reputation like this, getting new clients becomes easier.

And when you’re in demand, you can charge more for your services too.

For more tips on securing your first client, have a look at this video I’ve put together:

You now know how to become an intuitive life coach.

But what exactly do clients gain from working with you?

Let’s take a closer look…

What are the benefits of hiring an intuitive life coach?

Intuitive life coaching is all about helping clients change the way they think and feel, so they can live the life they want. They essentially change their approach to life and their opportunities – thanks to your coaching.

Here are some other benefits you’ll help your clients achieve:

  • Faster goal achievement: By guiding clients through the right steps, they reach their goals quicker.
  • Heal old wounds and trauma: You help clients get over past pains and things that stop them from making progress. By overcoming blockages, clients move forward in a more positive direction. (Note: for deep trauma healing, you need specialized training.)
  • More clarity: You align clients’ mind, body, and spirit. This lets them get clear about what they want and how to get there.
  • Deeper spiritual connection: When clients connect with their spiritual side, they often have a stronger sense of purpose and feel more at peace.

Clearly, as an intuitive healing coach you have a massive impact on your client’s life.

But how much money can you make?

We’ll discuss that next.

What is the average cost of an intuitive life coach?

What does an intuitive life coach usually cost?

It varies.

What someone charges depends on several factors:

  • What does the client want to change?
  • What skills or experience does the coach have?
  • How long does the coaching last?
  • What is the coaching format? (One-on-one intuitive coaching sessions or group sessions? Online or in-person?)

There are currently no stats for intuitive life coaching salaries. But the average cost of a personal life coach is a good reference point.

This typically ranges from $100-$150 per hour

Salary.com also states that the average US life coach salary is $54K, with a range of $47K – $60K.

Glassdoor, on the other hand, puts average life coaching salaries in the US at about $70K annually, with a range of $53K – $93K.

Can you earn more as an intuitive life coach?

Absolutely.

One of the (many) perks of being your own boss is setting your own rates.

This lets you price your services based on:

  • Your expertise
  • The unique value you offer
  • The demand for your coaching

It also means that as you gain more experience and build a stronger reputation, you can increase your rates and thus your income.

To me, this kind of freedom is what being an entrepreneur is all about – creating value, driving your growth, and determining your own worth.
